Very well made skid plate. The aluminum is thick and the curve of the plate perfectly fits the curve of the bottom of the motorcycle frame. The welds do not appear to be done by a machine however they look well done and strong. My skid plate came with 4 clamps which were 3 slightly different styles which fit the bike better than if they were all the same style because clearance between the frame and the engine is different on th left and right side (which requires slightly different clamps) and because of mounting hardware that is welded to the frame for the factory engine guards. The "wings" on the side of the plate extend far enough to protect the sides of the engine from rocks thrown by the front wheel and the skid plate features a hole to allow for draining the engine oil without removing the skid plate. The skid plate mounts very securely and does not rattle on the bike. The only downsides about this skid plate are: (1) the bolts that are used to mount the skid plate require a T-40 bit which is an unusual bit and (2) the nuts used to mount the skid plate are stover locknuts which are nuts that are pinched at the top to prevent the bolts from coming loose however this made it impossible to mount the skid plate because it made the bolts very difficult to tighten onto the nuts and the clamps would dig into the aluminum frame of the bike. To remedy this issue I used a tap to cut threads through the portion of the nut that was pinched and I put threadlocker blue on the bolts to prevent them from loosening. Between the 5 different brands I considered purchasing an aluminum kid plate from only Works Connection had a plate that looked to be of similar quality and that skid plate was $200. Would buy from this brand again and will recommend to friends.
